The two volumes contains the records of eleven Bogert families that immigrated from Holland (The Netherlands) to various cities in New York state (chiefly in the 1600s, with one in 1719 and two in the 1850s), and one Bogert family that immigrated from Germany and had a child born here in 1775. Descendants and relatives of these 12 immigrants lived in New York, New Jersey and elsewhere.

Descendants of Jan Pieter Haring, genealogy, 1573-1950.
Jan Pieter Haring (1633-1683), son of Peter Haringh of Holland, married Grietje Cosyn (1634-1724) at New Amsterdam in 1662. They had seven children, 1664-1681. The family later settled at Tappen, New York. Descendants listed lived in New York, New Jersey and elsewhere.

Thomas Tolman (1608-1690) was a son of Thomas Tolman of Devonshire, England. Thomas Jr. immigrated in 1630 from England to Nantucket, Massachusetts, and settled in Dorchester, where he married twice.
