Roger Alling (1612-1674), son of James Allen and Margaret Coppin, emigrated about 1638 from Kempston, Bedford County, England to New Haven, Connecticut, and married Mary Nash about 1642. John Alling Sr. (1647-1717), a son, married Susanna Coe, served in the state legislature, and was a judge in county and city affairs. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa and elsewhere.

George Washington Allen (1818-1879) was a descendant of David Allen who was born Ireland and immigrated to America where he married Susanna White. One of their six children was John Allen (1742- 1802) who married Mary Power and was the father of eleven children. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio and other parts of the United States.

Richard Allen appears on rent rolls in New Kent and Hanover counties, Virginia in 1704. The descendants followed moved to North Carolina and then California. Includes Allen, Sanford, Tuck and related families.

Walter Allen (ca.1601-1681) immigrated during or before 1640 from England to Newbury, Massachusetts, moved to Watertown, Massachusetts in 1652, and married twice. Phinehus Allen (b.1745), direct descendant in the fifth generation, served in the Revolutionary War, and married three times. He moved from Massachusetts to Smyrna, New York. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and elsewhere.
