William H. Allen was born 25 April 1830 in Alabama. His father was Matthew S. Allen. He married Lucie Temper Bonner, daughter of William T. Bonner and Martha H. Perry, 3 November 1854 in Mississippi. He married Canisa Alba Terrell, daughter of Tolliver Terrell and Ann King Bonner, 1 June 1859 in Franklin County, North Carolina. Ancestors, lived mainly in North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts and England.

John Terrell (1705-ca. 1783) was born in New Kent County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Harrison ca. 1829 in Carolina County, Virginia. They had eight children. He died in Franklin County, Nourth Carolina. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Alabama, Missouri, Texas and elsewhere. Includes the Allen, Cheairs, Harris, Rush and other related families.

Wiley Saunders Clifton, son of John Clifton, was born in North Carolina after 1774. He married Elizabeth Alford and they had seven known children. He married Harriett Freeman in 1838 and they five known children. He died 20 April 1847 in Franklin County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina and Virginia.
