He died in Austin, Minnesota in 1916. He changed his surname to "Johnson" in the U.S. Descendants lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, and elsewhere.

Johannes (John) Albrecht was born in 1695 in Germany. He married Anna Barbara in 1715 in Germany.
