Description
Johann Christoffel Bauer (d.1749) and his family immigrated in 1731 from the Palatinate of Germany (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia, and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. His surname is spelled as Bebert and Boberth is county records, and some of his descendants spelled the surname Bawer, Beber, Bieber, Bewer as well as Baver. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.

Description
The Bethel Church was apparently a union church since its beginning. In 1803 a new church was built and called New Bethel Zion. The union dissolved in 1969. The church was located in Greenwich Township near Grimville.
