William Sparks was raised in Maryland. He married Martha Moore in about 1761 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They had eight children. John Thomas was probably born in Germany. He emigrated in about 1717. He married twice and had five children. James Smith was born in about 1620. He married Joane. They had four children. He died 21 May 1676 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Heinrich Karl Töbener was born 9 February 1786 in Vorbrück, Germany. His parents were Johann Heinrich Tövener and Anna Magdalena Lühring. He married Cathrine Margrethe Sophie Söder 27 August 1819. They had nine children. They emigrated in 1848 and settled in St. Louis, Missouri. Heinrich died in 1849. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri and California.

Patrick Kane was born 13 February 1825 in Rathmore, Meath, Ireland. His parents were Matthew Kane and Rose Carbery. He emigrated in 1846. He married Bridget Finnegan (1835-1903), daughter of Thomas Finnegan and Catherine McIntyre in about 1854 in Benton, Wisconsin. They had nine children. Patrick died in about 1873 in Fayette County, Iowa. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ireland, Wisconsin and Iowa.

The immigrant ancestor of this family, Jacob Timken (1781-1866), a son of Johann Timken of Renken-Huus and Ahlcke Cordes, was born in Tarmstedt, Germany. He died in Pettis Co., Missouri. He was married to Trine Mahnken (1791-1837) in 1811 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wilstedt, Germany. She was born in Wilstedt, Germany to Cordt and Anna Mahnken. She died in Germany.
