Description
George Brooks was born in 1845 near Llanasa, Flintshire, Wales and in 1850 his father Samuel Brookes, became a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Samuel and George immigrated in 1856, and Samuel died a few days after their arrival in Salt Lake City. George settled in "Dixie", and died in 1930.

Emma Batchelor (1836-1897) was born in Uckfield, England to Henry Batchelor and Elizabeth Divel. She traveled to Utah in 1856 with the Willie Handcart Company. In 1858 she married John D. John Doyle Lee (1812-1877) was born at Kaskaskia, Illinois, the son of Ralph and Elizabeth Doyle Lee. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated first to the vicintiy of Far West, Missouri, then to Nauvoo, Illinois, and in 1848 to Utah with the Latter-day Saint pioneers. John D. Lee (1812-1877) was born in Kaskaskia, Illinois and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at an early age. He was a pioneer and settler in southern Utah. In 1857 Lee helped lead a combined army of Latter-day Saint militia and Native Americans in the massacre of the Fancher wagon train at Mountain Meadows. He was arrested, tried and executed.
