Traces the Colquhoun/Calhoun line of Gladys Irene Calhoun (b. 1908), the author's mother. The first ancestor listed is Umfridus de Kilpatrick (ca. 1190-1260) of Dumbartonshire, Scotland. A descendant, John Calhoun (1710/11-1758), immigrated from Ireland to America and settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Rebecca Byers ca. 1733/34.
