Description
Alexander Kincaid (b.ca1670) was a pharmacist of Edinburgh, Scotland and the father of several sons who emigrated to the colonies and settled in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Most Kincaids are the descendants of Samuel, John and James who were sons of John and Ann Graham Kincaid, who in their later years lived on Indian Creek in Greenbrier Co., VA (now Monroe Co., WV). Samuel Kincaid (d.1813), according to family tradition, came from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to Manchester, Ohio and settled there. He married Sarah Reed and they had seven children. He enlisted in the War of 1812 and was killed at the siege of Fort Meigs in 1813.

Description
John Kincaid immigrated to America ca. 1750 and settled first in what is now Lincoln County, North Carolina. He married twice and was the father of eighteen children. He moved to Burke County, North Carolina, in 1792, where he purchased 1400 acres. Some descendants of his children, William, James, Robert, Archibald, Ibby, and Katherine, lived in North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Idaho, Alabama, Mississippi, and elsewhere.

David Kinkade (d.1830) was the son of John Kinkade and Polly Davis of Green County, Pennsylvania. His grandfather John Kinkade married Jane (unknown) near Belfast, Ireland and emigrated to the colonies about 1750. Descendants lived in Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, and elsewhere.
Includes Dixon, Tingley, Spillman and other related families.
