Augustus Washington Bulkeley (1805-1879), son of George and Sophia Loomis Bulkeley, was born in Colchester, Connecticut and married Margaret Ann Couenhoven (1805-1886), daughter of James Couenhoven in New York City. Margaret was born in New York City and both died in Oneida, Illinois. Descendants and ancestors of both are traced.

John and Henri Cocheu, brothers, emigrated from Paimpol, Côte-du-Nord, Brittany, France, to America in 1820 and settled in New York City. They were the sons of Yves Auguste Cocheu (ca. 1760-1836) and Marie Jeanne Jacob Cocheu (d. 1836).
John Cocheu, older brother, was born ca. 1790, in Paimpol. He moved to Freeschool, Robins Neck, Gloucester Co., Virginia, about 1828. He married Elizabeth Ikler of Baltimore, Maryland (d. 1863). They had a daughter,...
