David Smithson (1800-1865) moved from Virginia to Guilford County, North Carolina, then to Highland County, Ohio, married Betsy Williams in 1825, and moved to Grant County, Indiana in 1835. Descendants lived in Ohio, Indiana, Kansas, West Virginia, New Jersey, Oklahoma, California and elsewhere.
