Edward Cook (1760-1842) was born in Orange County, North Carolina, and served in the Revolutionary War. He and his family later moved to Rutherford County and later to Cleveland County, North Carolina. Ransom Cook (d.1831), probably with the same ancestry as Edward, moved from Chatham County to Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina about 1800.
