The oldest ancestors of Marion Stark Craig and Robert Andrew Craig, seem to be Albert Andriessen Bradt and his first wife, Annetje Barents (1612-1662) of Schleswig-Holstein. They immigrated to New Netherlands in 1636. Albert had two more wives before he died in 1664. Parents were Marion Craig, Sr. and his first wife, Mary Case. Three Joseph Hardins lived in the old Lawrence County, Missouri Territory/Arkansas Territory, and one was the great-great-grandfather of the author, Colonel Joseph Hardin (1784-1826) of Davidsonville. Andrews Craig (1798-1864) was born in Rowan County, North Carolina and moved to Missouri where he married Martha McCall Rodgers. They were the parents of eight children. Andrews Craig is said to have been murdered by members of the Crawford County Yankee Militia in 1864 because one of his sons, Samuel Jefferson Craig (1833-1916) was a member of the Army of the Confederacy. Descendants live in Missouri and other parts of the United States.
