John Crone was born in 1789 at York, Pennsylvania, the son of Jacob Crone. He married Elizabeth Pence (1794-1876) about 1812. They had seven children. He died near Lucas, Ohio in 1871. Descendants lived in Ohio, Indiana, Missouri and elsewhere. Includes the Switzer, Weaver, Steel and other allied families.

John Peter Stahl was born 5 February 1793 in Pennsylvania. He married Catherine Kreitzer (1793-1869) of Northampton County, Pennsylvania, about 1812. They had twelve children. They lived in Northampton County, Centre County, and Indiana County, Pennsylvania. In 1866, the parents moved to Avilla, Indiana, to live with their oldest child, John.
