Christopher Day and his wife, Martha, were baptized at the Pennyback Baptist Church in Pheladelphia County, Pennsylvania, in 1714. They were the parents of at least six children. He died in 1748 and was buried at the Cross Keys Cemetery, Plumstead Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants listed, chiefly those of his son, Mathew Day, lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and elsewhere.

He was probably the grandson of Josiah and Elizabeth Hope Davis of Chester County, Wales, and may have been the son of Jonathan Davis (d. 1765) of Chester County, Pennsylvania. William Scott was born ca. 1738, according to tradition on the ocean between Ireland and America. He married Helen Montgomery near Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1767. They had four children, 1769-1774. The family migrated from Pennsylvania to the Louisville, Kentucky, area, in 1778 with George Rogers Clark.
