Sometime after 1750, Benjamin Butler of Virginia moved to Newberry County, South Carolina. Benjamin was the father of at least one son, Aaron Butler (1770-1831). He married Jane Pitts and they were the parents of Moses Butler (1794-1879) who was born in South Carolina and later lived in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Reese and they were the parents of twelve children. Descendants live throughout the United States.

Arthur Moseley (ca. 1637-1703), son of William and Susanna Burnett Moseley, was born in Rotterdam, Holland. He immigrated to lower Norfolk City, Virginia with his parents when he was about twelve or fourteen. His father William is believed to have been originally from England. Charles Lewis Ward, son of John Lewis Ward and Susan Amanda Miles, was born 15 November 1867 in Petersburg, Indiana. He married Minda Cooper, daughter of Joseph Gideon Cooper and Anna Housley. They had six children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri and California. Richard Houlding/Holden (ca. 1608-ca. 1695) emigrated from England. He married Martha Fosdick (d. 1681) and they lived in Massachusetts. John Hinds (d. 1782) married Jean Kerr in 1749. They lived in Virginia. Descendants of Richard and John, Etta Cella Hinds (1873- 1959) and John Sherman Holden (1865-1937) were married in 1895 in Joplin, Missouri. Traces ancestors and descendants of Holden and Hind families as well as ancestors of allied lines.
