Virdie Hodnett Egger

George Zimmerman was born ca. 1725 in Germany and married twice. He became the father of two children by his first wife who is yet unknown. His second wife was Ann Schulteli. They were married ca. 1759 in Augusta Co., Virginia and were the parents of nine children. Descendants of George Zimmerman lived primarily in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas and elsewhere.

John Hodnet (ca. 1710-1799?) and his wife, Lucy Brooks, were married ca. 1730, probably in England. They probably had eight children, ca. 1731-ca. 1760. He was a merchant in London before the family immigrated to America, ca. 1736. The family settled in Albemarle County, Virginia. Their grandson, Benjamin Hodnett, a Revolutionary War soldier, was born in 1761 in Buckingham-Cumberland County, Virginia, the son of Ayers Hodnet (ca. 1731-1779). He married...

Christopher Riffe was born in 1764 of German parents on the disputed border of Maryland and Pennsylvania. His family migrated to Virginia and there he married Mary Agnes Spears 9 May 1783. Later, he married a second time to Elizabeth Coffee in 1806. Christopher was the father of ten children. Descendants lived primarily in Kentucky, Virginia, Missouri and elsewhere.

Lindsay Shoemaker (fl.1790-1832) and his wife Elizabeth moved from Elbert County, Georgia to Abbeville District, South Carolina during or before 1801, and then moved to Madison County, Georgia before 1821. Descendants and relatives lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and elsewhere.
