The Brodnax/Broadnax family originally of Kent County, England. William (1675-1726/7), son of Robert Brodnax, came to Virginia about 1699 and settled in Jamestown. He married Rebecca Champion (ca. 1677-1723). She was the widow of William Travis (d. 1700). They had three children, William, Edward and Elizabeth Rebecca. Most of the descendants of these compilations stem from William and Edward. Ancestors traced to early 1400s.

Joshua Willis (1796-1888), son of Reuben Willis and Ann Garnett, was born in Culpepr County, Virginia. He married Barbara Overton Winston (1799-1881), daughter of John Winston, Jr. and Mary Johnson, in 1817 in Louisa County, Virginia. He died in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Louisiana and Arizona.

Samuel Luckett (b.ca.1650), son of Thomas Luckett, immigrated from England to Virginia in 1630, and moved to St. Mary's, Maryland in 1634, where he married widow Elizabeth (Hussey) Gardiner in 1683 (she married a third time in 1705, so Samuel died during or before that year). Dennis Hemby (1823-1897) was the son of James Hemby and Sarah Wells of Warren Co., Mississippi. His grandfather was Dennis Hemby of Anson Co., NC. Sarah Wells was the daughter of Absalom and Mary Wells of the Tombigbee River area in Alabama. Dennis married Leonora Lee Cain, the daughter of Rev. James Cain and Anna Johnson in 1845. Dennis was the great grandfather of Mildred Ezell. Several generations of descendants are given.
