The descendants of William Cadman of Portsmouth do not constitute a large or numerous family, in fact for one whose date of arrival in this country was as early, at least, as 1654 the family is certainly to be considered as exceptionally small. There are at least four distinct Cadman families here at the present time, in three of which the immigrant ancestor did not arrive until 1800 or later.
