Peter Gilstrap was born ca. 1735 in England. He immigrated ca. 1749 to America with several brothers. He married Mary ca. 1764. They had 9 children. Peter died in 1795 in North Carolina. Descendants lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and elsewhere.
Two of Peter's sons, Bright and Benjamin, married Gravely sisters. Peter's granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Gilstrap married Joseph Gravely. She was born ca. 1809 to Lewis and Elizabeth...
