Buxton Forbes Laurie, of Scot lineage, was born in 1824 in Bath Place, Reading, Berks, England. He immigrated in 1848 to Port Adelaide, Australia, and married Mary Small in 1850. They moved to Port Elliot, Australia in 1852/53, and he died in 1876.

Description
John Vine Hall (1774-1860) was born in Norfolk to Joseph Hall and Hannah Vine. He became a publisher and was well known for his works concerning the evils of liquor. In 1806 he married Mary Teverill (1787-1871) and they were the parents of thirteen children. Their numerous descendants settled in New Zealand, South Africa, Channel Islands, Australia, Canada, India and England.
