Description
Probate packets are numbered by box numbers and are indexed as such (see "Indexed in" note in the film inventory). The boxes that housed the probates have been filmed two at a time, apparently because they were combined into groups of two. Some packets with out-of-sequence box numbers were out of order at the time of filming. Number 206 was found among the 265-266 group for example. Film 1637612, items 2 and 3, contain many documents of historical significance. The signatures of Joseph Smith, Jr. and other Latter-day Saint officials are found on some of them. Also, the copyright to the Doctrine and Covenants is reported to be among these documents. Item 1 may have historically significant material, but it was not noted.

Description
Names are not in alphabetical order. Also, the filing dates appearing in the inventory are not very reliable. Records found in any particular box may have filing dates years, even decades, apart from the date or dates shown. Use of the index (see note) is essential. Names are indexed by box number. Records related to insanity and other court documents are found after box number 465.
