History of the colony Mariental by the Volga also known as Tonkoshurovka. The author began to write everything down that he had heard from his father or grandfather or that he had experienced and seen himself to pass it down to subsequent generations. His recordings deal with the beginning of emigration of the Germans to Russia.

The authors of this volume consciously question the apparent self-evident nature of the differences and their scope. They direct attention to cultural factors in the broadest sense, to lifestyles, attitudes, influences, behavior and make comparisons between the various ethnic and denominational groups in the Black Sea region and the Volga region.
