Description
George Balser Hess (1747-1806) was a son of Casper and Maria Eva Hess, and after his father's early death, became an apprentice to Michael Leatherman. He moved from York County, Pennsylvania to join a sister in Maryland, and served in the Revolutionary War. He married Mary Eve Hensel in 1782, and settled in Bedford, Pennsylvania, moving in 1798 to Hopetown, Ohio.
