James Hogill is believed to be the first Hogle in America. He was born in about 1686. He married Ellin Dwyer in 1706 in Talbot County, Maryland. They had four children. Four Hogel brothers were born in New York from about 1715 to 1725. Their parents names are not known. They are Johannes, Edward, Barent and Pieter.
