Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Edmund Bacon who was born 8 April 1722. He was the son of John Bacon and Susanna Parke. Edmund married Elizabeth Edloe (daughter of John Edloe) sometime prior to the year 1757. They lived in Virginia and were the parents of six known children. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Missouri, Texas and elsewhere.

Includes stories and photographs of early churches established in Newton County, Missouri.

Henry Francis (ca.1733/1734-1780) moved from Maryland to Fredericksburg, Virginia, and served in the French and Indian War and in the Revolutionary War (in which he died). Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, California and elsewhere.

Ambrose McKee (ca.1799-1865) moved from North Carolina to Rutherford County, Tennessee and married twice. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and elsewhere.

George Jewell (1710-1769) married Amy Groome in 1743 in Frederick County, Maryland. Jacob Thomas (ca. 1750-1830) was born in Maryland and married Amy Jewell about 1790. They later settled in Wilson County, Tennessee. Descendants lived in Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, and elsewhere.

Major Samuel Lane, son of Richard and Alice Carter Lane, was born about 1628 in London. Sometime before 1663 Samuel Lane had immigrated to Virginia and in 1663 he moved to Maryland. He married Margaret Maulden Burrage, a widow, in 1669 and they made their home in Ann Arundel Co., Maryland. Descendants lived in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Arkansas, and elsewhere.

Coleman Johnson (1780/1790-1835) married Lucy Phillips about 1816/1817 and moved from Virginia to Wilson County, Tennessee "... just before 1830." Descendants lived in Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma and elsewhere.
