Jack E MacDonald

Adriaan Van Herwijnen (1805-1883), a son of Aart Van Herwijnen and Eelke Verploegh, was born in the Netherlands. He married Johanna Cornelia Van Zandwijk (1817-1875), a daughter of Leendert Van Zandwijk, in 1841. They had ten children. The family immigrated to the United States in 1875, settling in Michigan, where many descendants live.

Thomas Stone and his wife, Mary Butler, lived in Prince William and Fauquier counties, Virginia, in the mid-eighteenth century. They had five known sons. Descendants live in the eastern and central United States.

Paternal ancestry is traced to Archibald MacDonald (d. 1851) and his wife, Mary Morrison (d. 1848), natives of North Uist in Inverness County, Scotland. They immigrated to Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, ca. 1842. Descendants lived in Nova Scotia, Scotland, California, Massachusetts, and elsewhere. Alexander MacDonald (d.1899) immigrated from Scotland to Point Edward, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and married Catherine Macdonald in 1850. Archibald MacDonald (1870-1945), their youngest son, immigrated to San Joaquin County, California in the late 1890s, and later moved to Stanislaus County, California. He married widow Mary M.
