Daniel Deines (b. ca. 1760) was probably the Deines individual who emigrated from Germany to Kratzke (along the Volga River, now called Potschinnaja), Russia. Johann Jakob (John Jacob) Deines (b. 1817), his son, emigrated in 1876 from Russia to New York City, and settled in Lawrence, Kansas. Relatives immigrated later (until about 1905). Peter Justus Peterson (1845-1922), a direct descendant of Sven Bom, Sr. (1761-1814) of Jönköping County, Sweden, married Maria Johanna Bjorn in 1880 and emigrated from Sweden to Gworie, Iowa, later moving to South Dakota, and then to Page City, Kansas. Descendants lived in Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, California, Washington and elsewhere. Includes some ancestors living in various parishes in Jönköping County, Sweden.
