Ross W. McCurdy

Samuel McCurdy was born in Ireland about 1723. He married Elizabeth Gray and they were the parents of at least seven children. They brought their family to America settling in New Hampshire when most of their children were grown. Information on many of their descendants who now live in Ontario, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and elsewhere is included in this volume. Includes Dart, Mark, Redding, Whitney, Dunlop, and related families.

Samuel McCurdy was born in about 1723 in Ahogill, County Antrim, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Gray 21 May 1847 in Ireland. They came to America in about 1772 and settled in Surry, New Hampshire. Samuel's will was proved 29 January 1808.

Henry Buchner was born ca. 1786?, presumably in New Jersey. He married Catherine Green. They lived in Crowland Township, Ontario where Henry died ca. 1842. Descendants live in Ontario and throughout Canada and the United States. .

James Matthews was supposedly born 5 May 1752, possibly in New Jersey. He married Margaret Force (1766-1839) in Woodhouse Township, Ontario. He died in 1848 in Woodhouse Township, Ontario. Descendants live in Ontario and throughout Canada and the United States.

Jacob Moore, son of Jeremiah Moore and Mary Wildman, was born in 1768 in Sadsbury Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Rachel Wildman, daughter of Joseph Wildman, in 1792 in Loudoun County, Virginia. They had ten children. He died in 1846 in Welland County, Ontario. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ontario and Michigan.

Henry Loucks was born ca. 1758, presumably in the state of New York. He married Sara Sluijter/Sluyter. They had ten children born between 1787 and 1811. They lived in Walsingham Township, Ontario and Highgate, Vermont. Henry died at Highgate in 1824. .

John Wilkins was baptized in 1760 in Bremhill, Wiltshire, England. He married Ann Chesterman in 1788 in Clyffe Pypard, Wiltshire. They had three known children. He died in 1817. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Ontario and Michigan.

Abraham House emigrated from the United States to New Brunswick after the American Revolution. He later settled in Yarmouth Township, Elgin County, Ontario. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ontario.

John Stilwell, son of Daniel Stillwell and Catherine Johnson, was born in1737 in Kings County, New York. He married three times and settled in New Brunswick. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New Brunswick and Ontario.

Daniel Hazen was born 10 August 1755 in Sussex County, New Jersey. His parents were Daniel Hazen and Rachel Schritchfield. He married Anna Ward Carty (1756-1829), daughter of William Ward and Mary Elizabeth Howard, 30 May 1782 in New Jersey. Daniel died 29 November 1845 in Hazen Settlement, Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario. Descendants lived mainly in Ontario. Some descendants immigrated to the United States.
