Elisha Broy was born 1780 in Shenandoah Co., Va., and died 1855 in Indiana (possibly buried in Ohio Co. or Switzerland Co., Indiana). He was married (1) in 1805 to Nancy Ennis, daughter of Ezekiel Ennis; (2) Mehitable Keith (1805-1881), daughter of Oliver Keith, in 1826. She was born in New York and died in Pope Co., Illinois. He had nine children born in 1827 through 1847 in Indiana. Descendants live in Illinois and elsewhere.

James N. Pyles, Sr. (ca. 1800-1855) was born in North Carolina and moved with family members to Tennessee while he was still young. In 1833 he married Nancy Smothers (b. 1815) in Sumner County, Tennessee and they became the parents of ten children. James and his family eventually ended up in Franklin County, Illinois. Descendants live in Illinois and other parts of the United States.
