Description
John Lewis was living in Charlestown, of the Massachusetts Bay Colony by 1634. He had at least six children by his first wife, Marguerite, who died in 1649. About 1650, he married Mary Brown and they had six more children. After his death on September 16, 1657, she married a Mr. Cutler. Only the descendants of four children have been followed.

Chiefly, a handwritten record of Barrent Weager/Wager who was born in Baden, Baden, Germany in 1731. He first appeared with his wife, Elizabeth Sheffer Weager (1737-1825) in N.Y. in 1765. Descendants of their six known children settled chiefly in N.Y. and the East.

Chiefly, a record of descendants and some ancestors of Samuel Gage who was born December 8, 1749. He married Lydia Fish of Uxbridge on June 8, 1769. Lydia was the daughter of John Fish and they both were 19. She was born September 8, 1749. They emigrated to Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York and were there for ten years until they took up forest land as squatters in Fulton County near the town of Caroga, north Bush section. John Paine (ca. 1660-1731) was the son of Thomas Paine and Mary Snow. He was the grandson of Thomas Paine of Yarmouth, Mass. One of his descendants, John (1801-1850) married Mary Patten (1804-1874) in 1821. Descendants remained in New England for about four generations.

William Winn (1784-1829) was the son of Isaac Winn (1757-1822) and his wife, Sarah (1757-1841). About 1800, they homesteaded in Ghent, N.Y. In 1803, William married Martha Howard (1783-1869). They had 12 children. The homestead was occupied by Winns for over 100 years.
