Church was named Keller's and also Cocalico in the early days; by the 1800s it was also known as Bethany Reformed which became official when the congregation moved from Ephrata Township into the town of Ephrata in 1894. The Bethany Charge during 1766-1862 consisted of Cocalico or Bethany, Reyer's in Elizabeth Township, Zeltenreich in Earl Township, and Muddy Creek in East Cocalico Township.
