Isaac Luther Smith Sr., son of William and Elizabeth Smith, was born in Georgia. He married Sarah A. Kingsley in 1817 in Pulaski County, Georgia. They moved to Mississippi ca. 1818, eventually settling in Copiah County. Descendants lived in Mississippi, Louisiana, and elsewhere.
