Description
The Showman families in Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, California, New Mexico and elsewhere. The emigrant ancestor, Johan Henry Shóman, came to Philadelphia, Pa. aboard "Edinburgh" from Portsmouth, England in 1750. One branch of Showmans moved from Maryland to Ohio, another early branch (and Myers) moved to Tennessee. In late 1870 some Showmans moved to Ellsworth Co., Kansas, and a few of the same family settled...
