Description
Alexander Gordon (ca. 1630-1697), a native of Scotland, was captured at the defeat of the Scottish army at the Battle of Worchester, 1651, and deported to New England in 1652 for a period of servitude at Watertown, Massachusetts. He was released from his contract in 1663 and migrated to Exeter, New Hampshire. He married Mary Lysson/Listen there in 1663. They had eight children, 1664-1682. He died at Exeter. Description
George Gordon (b. ca 1700) and his two brothers, Adam and Alexander, emigrated about 1730 from near Kenmore Castle, Scotland, to northern Virginia. They then settled in Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania, and later moved to Shady Grove, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Maryland and elsewhere.
