John Paulus (1826-1907) immigrated with a brother and sister, Nicholas and Margaretha, from Luxembourg to Philadelphia in 1846. During the next five years, John worked in New York state. He moved during or before 1854 to Piqua, Ohio, and married Magdalena Schmidt in 1854. By 1860, they lived in Springercreek Township, Miami County, Ohio.
