Martin John Kosanke (1843-1919), of German immigrant lineage, married Louisa Fercho in 1861, and the family immigrated in 1893 from South Russia to Kulm, North Dakota, later moving to Ritzville, Washington. Descendants lived in North Dakota, Washington, Idaho, California and elsewhere.

Description
William Cloud II (1620-1702), a Quaker son of William and Joanne Cloude, married Susan James in 1647, and emigrated in 1682/1683 from England to Chester County, Pennsylvania. Enos Cloud (1842-1916), a direct descendant, served in the Civil War, married Nancy Clayton in 1866, and moved from Indiana to Caldwell, Kansas. Descendants of William lived in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Kansas and elsewhere.

Carol Jean Kosanke was born in 1949, daughter of Albert Kosanke (1910-1986) of Washington and Idaho and Ruth Evelyn Coatney, born in 1915 of Idaho. Her great grandparents were Ferdinand Kosanke (1862-1936), born in Paris, South Russia and Maria Salo (1862-1934). They immigrated to Kulm, North Dakota in 1893. They later moved to Ritzville, Washington in 1907. Other great grandparents were Wilhelm Frieske (1858-1912), born in Paris, South Russia...
