Phillip A Rice

Zion Church was built in 1859 at Oakdale in Washington Township. It became part of the Berrysburg Circuit when the circuit was formed in 1872 along with preaching points at Berrysburg, Gratz, and Weaver. In 1885 Elizabethville was added; in 1886 Fishersville was added. Millersburg class was set up in 1895. The Oakdale congregation moved to nearby Loyalton in 1897 and built a church there.
