Description
Salem Union was organized in 1772 near Moorestown by members of a congregation which moved several miles from the west (still in Moore Township). The union ended in 1970; the Lutherans are now Holy Cross Lutheran at Bushkill Center; the Reformed are now Salem United Church of Christ near Bath.

Description
The Moore Township congregations began in the 1750s and at first was located 1 mile east of Petersville. A union register was begun in 1763. In 1772 the Moore Township congregations left the old church (eventually it became Emanuel Lutheran Church), moved to what was to become Moorestown and built a log church calling it Salem.
