Description
Lilly was settled ca. 1800 and was also known as Lilly on the Bluestone. In the 1940's, it was a community of about 50 families when the area was surrendered to the Federal government for the Bluestone Dam control project. The buildings and cemetery were either destroyed or relocated.

David Albert Sanders was born 14 July 1848 in Cropthorne, Worcestershire, England. He was the son of William Sanders and Elizabeth Hunt. David immigrated to America with his parents in the year 1850 and landed at the port of New Orleans. David became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and moved westward to Utah with the Latter-day Saint pioneers. He married three times and was the father of thirty children.
