These Tims and Weir families trace their origins to South Carolina, whence the Tims' migrated to Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas; Weir descendants left South Carolina and migrated variously to Indiana, Illinois, and Colorado. Joshua Brink (1788-1878), believed to be the son of Benjamin and Sarah Gonsalis Brink, was born possibly in New Jersey. He married Rebecca Cool/Cole in 1812 in Benton, Northumberland Co., (present Columbia County), Pennsylvania.
