Charles Henry Hauck was born February 4, 1877 at Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah. He was the son of Peter Hauck and Deseret Burbank. On 4 November 1900, Charles married Priscilla Jane Lindsay at Byron, Big Horn, Wyoming. She was born 6 August 1880, at Bennington, Bear Lake, Idaho, daughter of David Ephraim Lindsay and Charlotte Ann Dunn. Nine children were born of this union.
