Paulus Kuster and his family immigrated in 1684/1685 from Germany (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia, and settled in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Custer) and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and elsewhere.

Descendants of Dielman Kolb (1648-1711), who lived in Wolfsheim and is buried at Mannheim, then in the Palatinate. He and his wife had seven children born between 1671 and 1691. Four of their six sons were Mennonite ministers. Four sons of Dielman Kolb immigrated to America. 1. Martin Kolb (1680-1761) was born in Wolfsheim and came to America in 1707. He was married to Magdalena Van Sintern, the eldest daughter of Isaac Van Sintern and Neeltje Claesen....
