Description
One of the immigrant ancestors was William Griffith from Cardigan, Wales. He emigrated in 1721 and settled in New York State. The earliest in this particular line to come to America were three siblings: Samuel R., William and Elizabeth. Samuel married Deborah Bevin or Bevan, who was born in Wales. They lived in Philadelphia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Ten children were born of this marriage. Samuel died March 1837 at the age of 88.
