Family history and genealogical information about the descendants Samuel Snoddy who was born ca. 1720 in Ireland. He married Elizabeth Sloan sometime prior to the year 1750. They immigrated to America ca. 1767 and settled in Rowan Co., North Carolina. Samuel and Elizabeth were the parents of twelve known children. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas, Tennessee and elsewhere.

Henry Watkins (b.ca.1638), a Quaker and possibly emigrated from England as an indentured servant, was in Henrico County, Virginia during or before 1664. By about 1675, Henry and his family owned a small farm in Henrico County, where he died after 1715. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Kentucky and elsewhere.
Includes Basse, Lockett, Woodson and related families.

Alexander McCorkle/McCorkel/McCorkal (ca. 1722-1800) came to America with his father, Samuel McCorkle while still a child. They settled in Paxtang Twp., Lancaster County (now Dauphin), Pennsylvania. He married Agnes Montgomery and their son, Samuel, was born in 1746. Descendants lived in Rowan County, North Carolina before moving westward.
