Marx Ilgenfritz (1550-1602) and his brother Paul Ilgenfritz (d.1600) were born in Oberwörnitz, Middle Franconia, Germany. Marx married Margaretha Hesenauer and the were the parents of seven children. One of their descendants, Johann "Hans" Georg Ilgenfritz (1702-1749), immigrated to America and settled in York County, Pennsylvania. He was the father of at least three children.
