The earliest known ancestor, Jacob Wright (b. 1774), was the son of Jacob Wright Sr. and Nancy? Waters. He married 1797 in Washington Co., Ky., Miriam Helm (b. 1778). They had thirteen children born in Washington and Barren Co., Kentucky. Jacob Wright was a native of Virginia and Miriam Helm of South Carolina. They came to Kentucky in 1805 and settled in Glasgow area of Barren County. Includes Higdon, Dobbins, McConnell, Smith and allied families....

Robert Boyd Dobbins (1773-1854) was the son of James Dobbins and Elizabeth Stephenson of Augusta Co., VA. He married Catherine Alexander (1775-1846) of Abbeyville, SC. Their son, James Alexander Dobbins was born at Felicity, Clermont Co., OH. He married Elizabeth Perkins in 1826. A grandson, Scott Walter Dobbins (1873-1917) married Susan Maud McConnell at Colorado Springs, CO. Several generations of ancestors and descendants are given.

William Corel (or Curl) married Rebecca Oney in Tazewell County, Virginia, in 1811. They had fourteen children. About 1848, most of the family relocated to Missouri, then Kansas. Descendants are also in Kentucky.
