Description
Genealogical notes on the ancestry and relatives of James Maree, Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann Girvan Maree, chiefly excerpts from public records and genealogical correspondence. Mary Ann Girvan (1801-1883) and James Maree (1796-1844) were married in 1818, probably in Pennsylvania. They had eight children, 1821-1835.
Includes notes on the Des Marest/Maree, Girvan, Shepard, Church and other ancestral families.

Description
Jacob Bruyn, a ship carpenter, was born in Norway, ca. 1645. He immigrated to New Amsterdam and later settled in Shawangunk, Ulster County, New York. He married Gertrude Esselsteyn, daughter of Jan Willemse and Willemtje Jans Esselsyen of Columbia County, ca. 1677. They had three children. He died ca. 1684. Most descendants listed lived in New York.
Includes the Wynkoop, DuBois, Hasbrouck, Jansen, Decker, Snyder, and other related families.
