Alfred Montgomery Shook was born July 16, 1845, son of James Keith Shook and Eliza Herndon Green. He grew up near Winchester, Franklin County, Tennessee. On August 17, 1871 Teresa Estill and Alfred were married at Nashville. She was the daughter of Dr. Wallace Estill and Eleanor Crabb. Alfred died March 18, 1923 at Nashville and Teresa died March 8, 1919. The couple had five children.
Descendants are located in Alabama, Tennessee and elsewhere.
