Obituaries were contributed by society members. Most obits in most vols. were published from the early to mid 1900s. Obits as early as 1879 & as late as 1996 were noted, however. Two vols., 8 & 10, have mostly later obituaries (1950-1996).

"In March 1918, all persons aged 18 years and older were required to sign a card showing their Declaration of Loyalty to the United States. This included both men and women, not in the service. Statements included name, residence, place and date of birth, occupation, if not employed--why not, by whom employed, and citizenship"--3rd prelim. p. Names are in alphabetical order by township.
